Celebrate Your Engagement in Barcelona
You’re engaged! There is no better place to capture this chapter of your love story than Barcelona. From the ancient, winding alleyways of the Gothic Quarter to the colorful, breathtaking architecture of Antoni Gaudí, the city offers a deeply romantic and cinematic backdrop for your engagement photos.
As your local Barcelona engagement photographer, my goal isn't just to take beautiful pictures—it’s to give you a relaxed, joyful experience where you can simply focus on each other while I capture the real, unposed magic.
Popular Engagement & Pre-Wedding Routes
Every couple's vision is different. Based on some of my favorite recent sessions, here are the most popular location combinations for engagement and pre-wedding photoshoots:
1. The Historic & Romantic: The Old City & Gothic Quarter
If you love timeless, moody, and deeply romantic vibes, the heart of Barcelona is perfect. We can wander through the narrow, cobblestone streets, framed by historic archways and beautiful squares.
As seen in: Maurene & Jackson’s intimate Gothic Quarter engagement.
2. The Iconic Barcelona: Sagrada Família & Park Güell
For couples who want the unmistakable magic of Antoni Gaudí, combining his two most famous masterpieces creates an unforgettable gallery. We start early to capture the sheer scale of the Sagrada Família before heading up to the colorful mosaics and sweeping city views of Park Güell.
As seen in: Elena & Michael’s engagement and Reina & Takumi’s stunning pre-wedding session.
3. Architecture & Nature: Ciutadella Park to Casa Vicens
If you want a mix of lush greenery, grand fountains, and unique Catalan modernism, this route is ideal. Ciutadella Park offers fairytale-like staircases and a golden waterfall, while Casa Vicens provides an incredibly vibrant, detailed, and slightly off-the-beaten-path architectural backdrop.
As seen in: Rachel & Dustin's romantic session and our Old City, Ciutadella, and Casa Vicens engagement route.
4. The Grand Tour: Old City, Sagrada, & Ciutadella
Can't decide? You don't have to! For couples who want a comprehensive gallery of the city, a multi-location morning shoot allows us to capture the historic streets, the iconic basilica, and the lush park all in one beautifully flowing session.

FAQ
Can we do multiple locations in one session?
Absolutely! Combining multiple spots (like Reina & Takumi or May & Jonathan did) is a wonderful way to get a diverse gallery. For 2 to 3 locations, we usually book a longer, half-day session. We will map out the transportation (usually a quick taxi ride between spots) to ensure the transition is smooth and maximizes our time in front of the camera.
Do we need to buy tickets for places like Park Güell?
Yes. Any location in Barcelona that requires an entrance fee—including Park Güell, Casa Vicens, or inside the Sagrada Família—requires you to purchase tickets for a specific time slot well in advance. During our planning process, we will agree on an exact timeline so you know exactly which time slots to book to align perfectly with the best lighting.
What's the difference between engagement and pre-wedding shoots?
While both celebrate your upcoming marriage, the vibe is usually a bit different. Engagement sessions tend to be more casual, capturing you in elegant but everyday attire as you explore the city. Pre-wedding photoshoots (very popular in many international cultures) are often more formal, with couples sometimes wearing their actual wedding dress and suit, treating the session as a highly styled portrait day before the actual wedding event. I am thrilled to capture both!
