I love it when couples come with ideas. Bailey’s vision was clear: she wanted a mix of the serene coast and architectural majesty.
The vibe was cloudy, lovely, and elegant. Because the sun wasn't harsh, we didn't have to hide in the shadows. We could stand right by the water and right in front of the massive fountain without squinting.
My guidance was all about matching that soft, dreamy weather. We kept the movements fluid and the poses delicate. I encouraged them to hold each other close (which is easy when the morning breeze comes off the sea!). We focused on creating images that felt like a "fairy tale," just as Bailey wanted—capturing the quiet intimacy of their love story against the grand backdrops of Barcelona.
Location Spotlight: Sea & Stone
To execute Bailey’s vision, we split the session between two iconic locations: Barceloneta Beach and Ciutadella Park.
Barceloneta Beach
We started by the sea to honor their upcoming beach wedding in the States.
- The Vibe: In the morning, Barceloneta is peaceful. The famous W Hotel (the "Sail") creates a striking, modern silhouette in the background, adding that contemporary touch Bailey liked.
- Fun Fact: Did you know this beach is "artificial"? It was created for the 1992 Olympics! Before that, this area was mostly industrial. Now, it’s the golden coast of the city.
Ciutadella Park (Parc de la Ciutadella)
Then, we moved to the park for the "fairy" element.
- The Fountain: The Cascada Monumental is the star here. Hidden History: A young Antoni Gaudí helped design the hydraulics and the gold decorative medallions on this fountain before he became the famous architect of the Sagrada Família. It looks like something out of a royal garden, perfect for a dream photoshoot.

The flow of the session was effortless. We let the cloudy sky set the mood—calm, romantic, and intimate.
