When we started planning this shoot, the vibe was clear: Chelsea and Thom are funny and sweet. They didn't want stiff, serious portraits that felt like someone else. They wanted images that sounded like their laughter.

For this session, we combined two of my absolute favorite spots: The Old City and Ciutadella Park. This combo offers the best of both worlds—historic texture and vibrant nature.
The Old City (Ciutat Vella)
We started in the winding streets of the Old City.
- Fun Fact: Did you know that the "Gothic" Quarter isn't entirely medieval? While the Roman walls date back to the 4th century, the iconic Neo-Gothic bridge (Pont del Bisbe) was actually built in the 1920s! It’s a stunning architectural blend that makes for dramatic, timeless photos.
Ciutadella Park (Parc de la Ciutadella)
As the sun rose higher, we moved to the lush greenery of Ciutadella Park.
- Hidden History: The massive fountain in the park, the Cascada Monumental, features designs by a young Antoni Gaudí before he became the famous architect of the Sagrada Família. He helped design the hydraulics and the decorative medallions!
Moving between these two locations allowed Chelsea and Thom to showcase different sides of their personality against backdrops that are quintessentially Barcelona.
The Experience: Morning Light and Genuine Connection
The session flowed effortlessly. We began with the softer, quieter moments in the Old City. The summer morning air was still fresh, allowing Chelsea and Thom to simply walk hand-in-hand, soaking in the realization that they are engaging in this beautiful journey of marriage.
As we transitioned to the park, the energy shifted. They brought different changes—fresh outfits that matched the vibrant greens and the brightness of the day.
